Listen to the Blog Post Here!

It can be difficult for artists and creative people to figure out who their target customer is. This is because many times, we have a hard time narrowing down our focus and figuring out what it is that we want to sell. In this blog post, we will talk about what a customer profile is and how to create one. Once you know who your target customer is, it will be much easier to find them and market to them!

What's in this blog?

What is a customer profile? A customer profile is a way of describing your ideal customer. It includes information like their age, gender, location, interests, and income level. By creating a customer profile, you can get a better idea of who your target audience is and what they are looking for.

Creating a customer profile may seem like a daunting task, but it doesn't have to be! Follow these ten simple steps and you'll be on your way to finding your target customer in no time.

Step One

Figure out what it is that you want to sell.

This may seem like an obvious step, but it's important to take the time to think about what it is that you're offering. What are your unique selling points? What are you passionate about? Once you know what it is that you want to sell, you'll be one step closer to finding your target customer.

Step Two

Do some research.

Once you know what it is that you want to sell, it's time to start doing some research. Who is your target customer? What are their demographics? What do they like to do in their free time? What are their interests? The more you know about your target customer, the better equipped you'll be to find them.

Step Three

Create a buyer persona.

A buyer persona is a fictional character that represents your ideal customer. When creating your buyer persona, be sure to include as many details as possible. Give them a name, age, occupation, hobbies, etc. The more realistic your buyer persona is, the easier it will be to find them in the real world.

Step Four

Take to social media.

Social media is a great way to reach out to potential customers and get your product or service in front of them. When using social media, be sure to target your posts to your buyer persona. If you're selling products for new moms, for example, be sure to target social media groups and pages that are frequented by new moms.

Step Five

Attend events and trade shows.

Events and trade shows are great places to meet potential customers face-to-face. When attending these events, be sure to have plenty of marketing materials on hand (business cards, flyers, etc.), and don't be afraid to strike up a conversation!

Step Six

Get involved in your community.

Getting involved in your local community is a great way to get your business or product in front of potential customers. You can do this by sponsoring local events, sponsoring a community sports team, or even just setting up a booth at the local farmer's market.

Step Seven

Partner with other businesses.

Partnering with other businesses is a great way to reach new customers. When partnering with another business, be sure to choose one that compliments your products or services. For example, if you sell handmade jewelry, partnering with a clothing boutique would be a great way to get your products in front of potential customers.
